What You Need
Everything you need before starting the setup.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Four simple steps — no technical knowledge required.
Step 1 — Open LG Content Store
Press the Home button on your LG Magic Remote (or standard LG remote). Your LG launcher bar will appear at the bottom of the screen. Scroll right along the launcher to find the LG Content Store icon — it looks like a shopping bag. Press OK to open it. If you don't see it on the launcher, press the Home button and navigate to All Apps, where the Content Store should be listed.
Step 2 — Find and Install IPTV Smarters Pro
Inside the LG Content Store, locate the search icon in the top-right area. Type "IPTV Smarters" using your remote's on-screen keyboard. Select IPTV Smarters Pro from the search results and press the Install button. The app is free to download and installs in about 30 seconds. Alternatively, search for "SS IPTV" if Smarters is not available in your country's Content Store.
Step 3 — Add Your WatchIPTV Playlist
Open IPTV Smarters Pro. On the welcome screen, tap "Add New User". You'll be asked to choose a login type — select "M3U URL". Fill in the fields: enter a display name (e.g. WatchIPTV), then paste your WatchIPTV M3U URL into the M3U URL field. If you also have an EPG URL from WatchIPTV, paste it into the EPG URL field now to enable the TV guide feature. Tap "Add User" to confirm. The app will begin loading and parsing your channel list — expect around 30 to 60 seconds for the initial sync.
Step 4 — Browse Channels and Start Watching
Once loading is complete, your full channel library appears in the app. Navigate using your LG Magic Remote pointer (if your TV has one) or the standard directional buttons. Browse channels by category — Sports, Movies, News, Series, Kids, and more. Tap the EPG button to open the electronic programme guide and see what's on now and in the coming 7 days. To return to regular LG TV (satellite, cable, or aerial), simply press the Home button and switch your input source.

Troubleshooting Common Issues
Here are solutions to the most common problems encountered on LG Smart TVs.
App availability in the LG Content Store varies by region and WebOS version. Search for "SS IPTV" as a reliable alternative — it's listed in more regions than Smarters. You can also check if your Content Store region settings can be adjusted in Settings → All Settings → General → Location → LG Services Country. If no IPTV app is available, connecting an Amazon Fire Stick to your LG TV's HDMI port is the simplest alternative.
Clear the app's stored data by going to Settings → All Settings → General → Storage → App Settings → IPTV Smarters → Clear Data. Restart your LG TV completely (unplug from power for 30 seconds), then re-launch the app and re-enter your M3U URL. Avoid pressing buttons while the channel list is initially loading as this can cause the app to crash on some WebOS versions.
If your LG TV has a Magic Remote, enable the pointer mode — simply wave the remote and the cursor will appear on screen. Using the pointer to click on channels and menus is significantly faster than navigating with the standard directional buttons. A USB keyboard can also be connected to your LG TV's USB port for faster text entry during setup.
Ensure your EPG URL has been entered correctly in the app. In IPTV Smarters Pro, go to App Settings → EPG → External EPG URL, paste your WatchIPTV EPG link, and save. Then tap Update EPG to force a fresh download. EPG data can take 3 to 5 minutes to fully sync. Your TV must remain connected to the internet throughout this process. If the EPG still doesn't load, contact WatchIPTV support to confirm your EPG URL is active.
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about IPTV on LG Smart TV.
Any LG Smart TV from 2017 onwards running WebOS 3.0 or later is fully compatible. This covers the full LG lineup including OLED, QNED, NanoCell, and standard 4K UHD TVs. If your LG TV has an internet connection and access to the LG Content Store, it will work with IPTV Smarters Pro or SS IPTV.
Yes. LG OLED TVs are among the very best displays available for watching 4K IPTV content, thanks to their infinite contrast ratios and per-pixel HDR. As long as your internet connection delivers at least 25 Mbps sustained download speed and you're watching a WatchIPTV 4K channel, streams will play at full 4K HDR resolution on your LG OLED panel.
On some LG TV models and WebOS versions, an LG account is required to download apps from the Content Store. Creating one is completely free and takes under a minute on your phone or computer at lgaccount.lge.com. Once your account is set up and signed in on your TV, you can install IPTV apps normally.
LG's ThinQ AI and Google Assistant voice integration work at the WebOS system level. You can use voice commands to launch the IPTV app and control basic TV functions, but in-app channel switching via voice depends on whether the specific IPTV app (e.g. IPTV Smarters) has integrated voice command support. Check the app's own documentation for specific voice command capabilities on WebOS.
LG Smart TVs support USB recording for standard OTA broadcasts via their built-in tuner. For IPTV recording, the capability depends on the specific app. IPTV Smarters Pro supports scheduled recording to a connected USB storage device on certain firmware versions of WebOS. For reliable recording of IPTV content, using TiviMate on a separate Android TV device connected to your LG TV's HDMI input is generally a more robust solution.
